Direct connection of e-DATA’s time collect devices to SAP – without middleware e-DATA CONNECT 7.0 of the company e-DATA GmbH has been cerified for integration with SAP ERP 2005 via the SAP integration scenario ABAP add-on for SAP Human Resources.
e-DATA’s time collect terminals are able to connect directly to a SAP server.
Terminal categories Group all terminals with the same hardware in different categories.
Terminal activation The terminals enroll in the system after they connect to SAP for the first time.
Terminal properties Every time the terminal starts up, it sends its hardware data like the terminal type, the MAC-address and the display type. This data can be requested at any time. Monitoring The e-DATA device monitoring allows for an instant status overview of each terminal: Terminals send a periodic heartbeat so the server registers them as “online”.
In case the heartbeat signal is interrupted, the terminal status changes to offline. All terminals with the status „online“ are marked green, all terminals with a missing heartbeat are marked red.
Data download
With ICM’s File Access Handler the terminal can download data from the SAP system like the master data or terminal software updates. Master data is used for authorization checks and balance requests at the terminal.
Validation tables Employees are able to use one or several terminals for bookings.Terminals can be grouped. Subsequently, employees can be validated to useone or more terminal groups. The master data download’s parameters match the parameters of SAP HR-PDC standard report RPTCC101.
Software update
An update of the terminal’s software can be initiated from SAP.
If an update was initiated, SAP sends in response to the terminal’s next heartbeat a command for downloading and installing the update. Multilingual The terminals support different languages
